What we collect
When you use Chesszles, we access your publicly available chess.com game data (games, ratings, and usernames) to generate your report. If you join our waitlist, we store your email address. We do not collect passwords, payment information, or private messages.
How we use your data
Your game data is analyzed to produce personalized chess reports, including accuracy scores, opening statistics, and blunder classifications. Analysis results are cached to improve load times on return visits. We may use aggregated, anonymized data to build benchmarks across rating levels.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Chess.com API — to fetch your publicly available game data
- Supabase — to store cached analysis results
- Anthropic (Claude API) — to classify chess mistakes
- PostHog — for anonymous usage analytics
Data retention
Cached game analyses are retained indefinitely to provide faster report generation. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request removal. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies through PostHog for anonymous usage analytics. No advertising cookies are used.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Since we only access publicly available chess.com data, you can also control your data visibility through your chess.com account settings.
